At Killjoy, the safety of our guests and of our staff is our number one priority. That is why we have invested in new technology to check guests in at our door. Our friends at Raleigh Magazine were some of the first to test it out!

The digital scanner outside our doors first checks to ensure each guest is wearing a mask before entering. Then, each guest will waive their wrist at the side of the scanner – a no-contact infrared thermometer that takes your temperature. If you have a fever, you will not be allowed in. If you are not wearing a mask, the scanner will advise each guest to put a face mask on. Once you are seated, you can remove your mask.
One of our founding partners, G Patel, is taking every precaution to make sure everyone who enters Killjoy is healthy and found this device when researching tools to help our team ensure everyone’s safety and comfort during this time. This state of the art technology that scans for masks and temperature does that exactly.
“For us, being in the food and beverage space, we need to make sure we’re taking every necessary step in our power for the safety of our patrons,” Patel says. “It’s probably overkill but we would rather have this in place than not.”
Overall, our guests have responded well to this knowing that it is for their safety as well as others. We thank you for being part of this journey with us and thank you, Raleigh Magazine, for the feature. Read the full web exclusive “Safety in Technology” article here.
